Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and York

On Christmas Day we woke up and opened gifts.  Everyone was very generous.  We went to church near our hotel and then relaxed the rest of the day.  We had a puzzle making contest, watched the queens speech and watched several movies.

On Boxing Day we took the Mega Bus to Leeds and we went to TGI Fridays for dinner.  I got to try Mince Pie at the hotel!  Then Kayla, Emma and I walked to the city center.  There was a shopping center that would have been cool but everything was closed ... Probably for the better!!! We went back to the hotel and had ice-cream.

The next day Kayla's family rented a car and we were off to York.  Kat and Adrian both said it was an amazing city so we were excited.  We walked along the city wall, went to the shambles, the York Minster and Clifford's Tower.  We also went to The National Railway Museum.  It was so windy it was incredible and sometimes it just pushed you about.  Then we left York  went to Durham for the night where we stayed at a quant little inn called The Lambton Hounds Inn.  We had dinner and played cards before crawling into bed.

London Day 2

We started out going on a walking tour that was pretty interesting.  We got to see St. Paul's Church, The National Gallery and Nelson's Column.  We went to St. James Palace, walked through Green Park, gazed at Buckingham Palace and the Palace where the military is and they beach volleyball was held for the last Olympics.

We walked past Churchill's War Bunker, where he worked and stayed during World War II.  You can apparently take a tour and it is the same way he left it after the war.

We went to Big Ben, Westminster Abby and finished our tour at The Old Monk pub where we had fish and chips for lunch.  Later we made the trek out to Kensington Palace.

We got to go to Platform 9 and 3/4.  It was pretty cool to pretend to be going to Hogwarts.

Emma, Kayla, and I went back to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge to see it all lit up at night.  It was a pretty cool day.

London Day 1

On our first day in London we went to the Tower of London and took a tour.  We got to see the Crown Jewels, they were super impressive!!!  We also saw the bloody tower where they tortured people and the armory.

After that we went to have lunch and I had some pretty good fish and chips.  Then we went to the British Museum and got to see the Rosetta Stone and a statue from the Easter Islands.

We tried to go to Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park but when we got there it was closed due to rain. We finished off our first day at Harrods
