Dublin

The next day we did do a walking tour of Dublin.  We went to the Dublin castle, some cool doors, an outline of a Viking door, trinity college, and temple bar.

Here are some pictures.  We learned that Vikings slept 10 to a bed!!!

On a last day we toured Guinness.  It was a cool tour and at the end we learned how to pour a glass of Guinness and then took it up to the Sky Deck where we got to see an amazing 360-degree view of Dublin.

Dublin well actually Howth

Our trip to Ireland was wonderful.  We flew out of Krakow and were in Ireland in a matter of hours.  The plan was to go on a walking tour of Dublin on our first morning and then do a walking tour of Howth on our second morning, but once we got to the meeting point we decided to go on the Howth tour the first day.  Everything online about the tour talked about clear days.  When I was reading about this tour online I thought to myself, yeah right clear days in the middle of November, but the first day it was sunny and beautiful.  So off we went to Howth.
After a short train ride we were there.  Our first stop was the harbor where we were lucky enough to see an enormous seal.  I didn’t know that seals got so big!!!

Then we went to the Howth Castle.  Someone still lives in the castle today!  We walked around the grounds that are now a golf course and then up through the forest.
The forest opened up to a clearing on top of a hill and we were able to see some great views of Howth, Dublin, and a lot of Ireland.

We walked back down the other side of a mountain for some more breathtaking views, saw some adorable houses and ate a fantastic lunch!  I had muscles in a incredible garlic cream sauce and Kayla had fish and chips.

Our tour ended with a cliff walk back to the train station.  It was an amazing first day!!

Budapest

Happy Belated Halloween.  Kayla and I decided to dress up as Adrian for Halloween at school and were surprised by how many people thought we were Adrian from the back throughout the day.  The kids really thought it was funny too!

Last weekend we had Friday off because of All Saint’s Day.  We took the opportunity to hop on a night train and when we woke up in the morning we were in Budapest!   Last year when we went to Prague we took the same train but had seats and got probably one of the worse nights of sleep ever.  This year we opted for a sleeper car.  It was kinda crazy 3 bunks high but we really did get to sleep and so it was great.

On our first morning we went on a walking tour and got to see many of the major sites in Budapest.  We had an amazing recommendation thanks to Wombat’s Hostel for the great recommendation and then met up with some of Kat’s friends in the evening.

Then the following day we walked to the Parliament Building, spent sometime on Margaret Island and then went to the Thermal Baths.  It was a great relaxing day!

Our last day we hiked up the hill, the Liberty Statue is on and got a great view of the whole city and headed back to Poland.  It was a really nice and relaxing weekend.
