The next day started off with a nice Spanish Hot Chocolate
and cheesecake for breakfast. Kayla
had a coffee and croissant. Then
we went for a bit of a walk. We
saw the Arc de Triomf, walked through a park with palm trees and a huge map of
Barcelona, walked along La Rambla and went to some markets. There was so much fresh food it was fun
just to look around. I also
learned that they sell all meat with the head still attached so that was a bit
frightening.
We bought supplies to make
guacamole and then we went back to the hostel early due to rain and just had a
relaxing afternoon. In the evening
we did a Tapas Tour, tried some nice food and learned how to drink wine from a traditional wineskin (bota).
On day three we took
a walk to the beach. Played in the
sun and sand and then took a cooking class to learn the art of making
Paella. It was a really cool
experience that we saw on trip advisor and decided to try. It was at an apartment near our hostel
and we prepared everything as a group (there were 5 of us plus our instructor),
then as it cooked we got to enjoy the sun from her balcony looking out over
Barcelona and the sea.
After the cooking
class we went back to the beach because I just couldn’t get enough and we spent
the evening looking for sea glass, watching the planes come in and the sunset!
